You are the half that makes me whole
By Linda
In all my days I see your smile
In little things and all the while
I wonder at the life we've led
The times we've laughed; the things we've said
Despite the times we found it hard
And meanly fought, our friendship scarred
Still we stayed together, just
We learned again to love and trust
And build new days together that
Are scrapbooked here beneath my hat
So many memories safe and strong
Of summer evenings warm and long
Of walks and talks; discussions, heated
Special days and times entreated;
Of autumn, spring and winter too
So many thoughts and all of you
Reminiscence close to heart
Moulded into memory art
It's hard to say just what you've meant
The phone calls made; the letters sent
The touch; the nod; the wink; a smile;
Each moment stored in memory file
And each a message to my soul
You are the half that makes me whole
